ABC-7 First Alert: Cooler temps and severe storm chance on the way!

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- We are under an ABC-7 First Alert for storm chances set to arrive Tuesday!

A Weather alert has been issued by the National Weather Service for El Paso and Las Cruces ahead of Tuesday and Wednesday's storms:

• Flood Watch in effect from September 22, 12:00 PM MDT until September 23, 07:00 PM MDT

Today we woke to temps in the upper 60s and low 70s. They will continue to climb and lean above average by mid afternoon. El Paso is expected to reach a high of 94, Las Cruces 91. Today is the last day of Summer!

Conditions will remain mostly dry today, tomorrow that will change. Rain chances will climb to 30-40% for your Tuesday.

Also Tuesday, temperature highs will dip to the mid to upper 80s as a backdoor cold front arrives in time for the first day of Fall.
