Man found in El Paso dumpster still alive

An unusual incident Saturday morning almost led to one mans death.

At around 8:30 a.m., the El Paso Fire Department was dispatched to a call about a man trapped inside a garbage truck.

It happened at the 10000 block of Vista Del Sol Drive. The crews found the man had been sleeping in a dumpster and was then thrown into the truck during the routine trash pickup. The driver of the truck heard screams from inside the truck, then called 911.

Firefighters pulled the man out about an hour later and transported him to Del Sol Medical Center.

The extent of his injuries are still unknown.
