Oregon State crushed UTEP 33-7 at the Sun Bowl

El Paso (KVIA) -- Oregon State took down UTEP 33-7 Saturday night at the Sun Bowl.

The Beavers jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and added another three points before halftime to take a 20-0 advantage into the break.

UTEP finally got on the scoreboard in the third quarter, but Oregon State answered with another touchdown and added six more points in the fourth.

Oregon State quarterback Braden Atkinson led the Beavers' offense, while UTEP quarterback E.J. Colson Jr. looked to spark the Miners' offense.

FINAL: Oregon State 33, UTEP 7

TEAM STATS:
Oregon State: 452 total yards, 301 passing yards, 150 rushing yards.
UTEP: 220 total yards, 133 passing yards, 87 rushing yards.
