City of Socorro offers sandbags for residents in preparation for weather

SOCORRO, New Mexico (KVIA) -- The City of Socorro says there are sandbags available for residents at two separate locations following recent rainfall and the potential for more.

City officials say sandbags are available in limited quantities at both locations and will be distributed while supplies last:

  • Rio Vista Center, 901 N. Rio Vista Rd., Open 24 hours a day
  • Recycling Center, 241 Old Hueco Tanks Rd., Tuesday–Saturday from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Residents must present a driver’s license or a water or electric bill and are limited to 10 sandbags per household.
