Canutillo ISD to release students early due to storms, potential flooding

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The Canutillo Independent School District will be sending students home 45 minutes early in anticipation of another round of storms and flooding concerns today.

According to a release from the district, the weather conditions are driving the decision for the early release at the following times:

• Elementary schools: 2:30 p.m.

• Middle schools: 3:15 p.m.

• High schools: 3:30 p.m.

The district is encouraging parents to pick up their students and to seek shelter at home from the inclement weather.

All afterschool athletic events and extracurriculars are canceled or postponed for the day. ACE Programs at all elementary schools also are canceled Tuesday.
