Classes canceled at Hatch Valley Public Schools for Wednesday

HATCH, New Mexico (KVIA) - The Hatch Valley Public Schools has canceled classes for Wednesday, September 30.

The cancelation of classes is due to the heavy rains that have hit the area.

The storms impacted families in the Hatch Valley area and caused road closures due to flooding.

"Due to the recent heavy rains, we are aware that many of our families are being impacted by impassable roads, flooding, and limited transportation," stated a post from the school district. "We made this decision to keep our students safe while giving flooded or muddy roads time to dry out."
