$500,000 gift for Texas Tech Health El Paso from the GECU Foundation

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - The Texas Tech Health El Paso received a $500,000 gift from the GECU Foundation for the Building Hope Campaign.

The campaign supports the construction of the Fox Cancer Center at Texas Tech Health El Paso. The center will bring comprehensive cancer care for borderland patients.

“Our commitment to the Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Fox Cancer Center is an investment in the health of those who live in our region. We’re honored to support this remarkable center that will bring world-class cancer care and innovation to countless people right here in the heart of El Paso,” said Emmeline Garcia, GECU Foundation Executive Director.

The center is currently under construction and is a partnership between UMC El Paso and TTH El Paso. A combination of academic medicine and community-based care that will provide the first comprehensive cancer center in our region.

“The GECU Foundation has long demonstrated its commitment to investing in the health and well-being of our community,” said Dr. Richard Lange, president of Texas Tech Health El Paso. “Their generosity reflects our shared commitment to ensuring families throughout the Borderplex have access to exceptional cancer care close to home. This investment in the Fox Cancer Center will help us build a healthier future for our region, and its impact will be felt for generations to come.”
