16th El Paso Buddy Walk raises awareness for Down Syndrome

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Saturday, the Down Syndrome Coalition held the 16th El Paso Buddy Walk at the El Paso Community College (EPCC) Valle Verde Campus to raise awareness of Down Syndrome.

Organizers say the walk was used to raise funds for the Coalition’s many projects and the El Paso Community College (EPCC) Buddy Walk Scholarship for students with disabilities.

According to organizers, 500 walk participants and "Buddies" were set to participate in the 1-mile walk.

Attendees gathered at the EPCC Valle Verde Campus at 9:00 a.m., and the walk began at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
