Northeast fire causes thousands of dollars worth of damage to vacant home

El Paso, Texas – Monday afternoon the El Paso Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at 8829 Mt. Elbert Dr.

Neighbors saw smoke and called 911. When firefighters arrived, they found brown smoke and flames venting from the roof of the house. Crews checked for occupants in the house, didn’t find any and proceeded to fight the fire.

The house had sustained about $80,000 worth of damage, according to the fire department. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The house has been vacant for approximately two years.

El Paso,TX- The El Paso Fire Department is on the scene of a house fire in the 8800 block of Mt. Elbert in northeast El Paso.

Officials said it’s a Condition 1 fire, meaning there is heavy smoke but no flames.
