ABC-7 StormTrack Weather: Tracking a warmer weekend with a chance of isolated storms

Good afternoon to the Borderland, we have finally made it to Friday. Today will be nice with forecasted highs in the mid 80s. Looking nice and quiet across the Borderland. This evening will be warm with partly cloudy skies for high school football games.

The UTEP Miners are home tomorrow again Nevada, as the game kicks off at 5 PM, it will be in the mid to upper 80s with the possibility of isolated storms. Chances will persist throughout the game.

Likewise, this weekend, the Borderland will experience on and off storms caused by the tropical moisture from Rachel and Simon. These chances will increase at the beginning of next week, our highest chances will be Monday and Tuesday!

Next week a gradual cooldown is expected with highs in the low/mid 80s at first. Then, another cooling will plummet our daily highs into the 70s and lows in the 40/50s for a few days. 

A high pressure system, that has kept things quiet and warm, is expected to shift to the east which may open the door for rain chances this weekend through early next week.

Newly formed Tropical Storm Simon which is expected to rapidly increase to a Category 4 Hurricane in the Pacific before it makes landfall and run parallel along the Western Mexican Coast. Some spaghetti plots were forecasting the center to pass near the Borderland yesterday... now it is expected to pass to the east of the area.
