Super Bowl brings increase in sales to local businesses
The Super Bowl is one of the biggest television events in the U.S., if not the biggest. And what better way to celebrate than with wings, beverages and more?
Some local businesses in El Paso, such as Spec’s, Wingatop and Cabo Joe’s, are hoping for a big jump in sales.
“We are expecting at least an 18 to 20 percent increase in sales,” the Wingstop manager said.
Wingstop employees said they make nearly 400 wings in 15-minute blocks, and the best way to secure an order for the big game is to pre-order as soon as possible.
Spec’s employees said the Super Bowl is an event they already know will bring business, and prepare for it well ahead of time.
“It is a predictable event for us,” John Williams, Spec’s store manager said. “That is how we stay ahead of things and take good care of our customers.”
According to recent studies, on average only 3 percent of people watch the Super Bowl at a bar or restaurant. But Cabo Joe’s is still ready for more business than usual.
“We do get prepared for anything that may come in,” the Cabo Joe’s manager said. “We do order extra alcohol and have extra staff on hand in case it gets super busy.”
Wingstop has wing specials available for the Super Bowl, and there are drink specials at Cabo Joe’s, Corner Tavern and Grill, and others all across the area. Just call your local restaurant to find out what specials they may have for the big game.
