I-10 to close from Sunland Park to Porfirio Diaz Sunday morning

Interstate 10 will be completely closed starting at midnight Sunday morning as work on Spur 1966 continues. It’s not expected to reopen until at 6 a.m. Monday.

The Texas Department of Transportation has designated some detours for people heading east on I-10. Drivers will be asked to exit at Sunland Park and continue on Paisano past Downtown until you get to the U.S. 54 on-ramp.

TX-DOT recommends other routes. You can take Transmountain, which will take you to the loop and into the far east side. You can also take Mesa past the construction.

If you’re heading west, you will exit at Porfirio Diaz and take the side streets past Shuster and back on to I-10 west.
