El Paso Police ID 2 bodies found in East Side home Thursday
Nov. 21, 2014 Update:
El Paso Police have identified the two people found dead in an East Side home on Thursday.
They have been identified as 44-year-old Maria Elena Sernas and 64-year-old Jorge Rojero.
Police say Sernas went to the home in the 9800 block of Eastridge to retrieve property from Rojero, her ex-husband.
Police say that Rojero showed a handgun then shot and killed Sernas before shooting and killing himself.
The investigation continues.
Nov. 20, 2014 Story: El Paso police found two dead bodies inside an east side home early Thursday morning.
Police told ABC-7 a family member of one of the individuals inside tried to get in touch with them but could not.
The family member then came to the house, knocked on the door, but received no answer. The family member then called police to do a welfare check.
When the police arrived at the home they also did not receive a response when knocking on the door. The police went inside the home and found the bodies.
It is still unknown who was involved in the incident or how the two people died.
EPPD released a press release stating they believe the incident to be a murder suicide.
But EPPD said it will not release more information on this incident until Friday, once the family is contacted.
