El Paso Police ID pedestrians killed in separate accidents on Monday night

El Paso police are investigating two separate fatal pedestrian accidents that happened Monday night.

A 74-year-old woman was struck and killed by a 2006 Toyota Camry at about 8:15 p.m. Monday in the 3100 block of E. Paisano.

El Paso Police say Josephina Gonzalez was crossing Paisano near the intersection of San Marcial when she was struck by the Camry. The car was traveling east on Paisano and was driven by 55-year-old Donna Rodriguez.

Gonzalez was transported to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Investigators are determining who had the right of way and no charges have been filed at this time.

At about 9:39 p.m., 48-year-old Trenton Bullard was in the northbound lanes of N. Mesa when he was struck by a vehicle.

Police say that vehicle did not stop and continued north on Mesa. Two other vehicles struck Bullard and remained at the scene.

Police say Bullard was not in a crosswalk and investigators have not yet determined why Bullard was in the roadway. Bullard died at the scene.

There have been 29 traffic-related fatalities this year compared to 31 last year.
