StormTRACK Weather: Hot, humid day with scattered storms
Another hot, humid day is expected around the region.
Moisture still lingers over the Borderland, but at the surface drier air is shifting over the western portions of the region.
Today, temperatures are expected to rise back into the 90s at the lower elevations. El Paso will hit a high of 97 and the forecast high sits at 96 in Las Cruces.
Winds will be breezy today, but higher wind gusts are possible around isolated thunderstorms.
Like yesterday, the best chance of rain will be the eastern zones of our viewing area. Thursday saw strong thunderstorms, some turning severe with hail, high winds and heavy rain around Alamogordo and Dell City.
The chance of rain sits at 20% this late afternoon in El Paso and Las Cruces. Tonight the rain chance will drop to 10% and remain at 10% Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures will continue to rise this weekend. The forecast high in El Paso is 98 Saturday, 99 Sunday, and 100 by Monday.
