ABC-7 First Alert: Severe storm threat arrives!

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- We remain under an ABC-7 First Alert for severe storm threat through the region.

We woke this morning to cool temps and calm conditions. By afternoon temps will climb and rain chances will begin. El Paso is expected to reach a high of 82, Las Cruces 79 today.

Storm threat climbs today to 50-60%. That storm risk will stay present through your Saturday as well. Expect rain chances to start to uptick midmorning but looking strongest through our evening.

This storm system could bring strong winds, localized flooding, and a risk for hail.
