Pedestrian hit, killed by train Monday night

El Paso Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian hit by a train Monday night in Central El Paso.

Police say a Union Pacific train was traveling westbound on the railroad tracks when a man moved in front of the train an was struck by it.

The man died at the scene.

Police’s Special Traffic Investigators say that the pedestrian attempted to cross the tracks to beat the train.

The man has not been identified and the investigation is continuing.
