Wind advisory: Wind speeds expected to reach up to 50 mph

Some parts of the Borderland could see wind speeds up to 25-35 miles per hour, with gust around 50 miles per hour.

There is a high wind warning in effect from 2 p.m. this afternoon to 6 a.m. Monday for the Guadalupe Mountains. There wind advisory in effect from 3 p.m. this afternoon to 7 a.m. Monday for Van Horn and the U.S. Highway 54 corridor, as well as the Davis and Apache Mountains.

This will impact lawn furniture, garbage cans, or other objects not secured. They may be blown about by the wind.

Strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
