Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa discusses border security, affordability and data centers in ABC-7 interview

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- With less than a week before the midterm election, Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa visited the KVIA studios for a one-on-one interview with ABC-7 anchor Mauricio Casillas.

The conversation covered several key issues facing Texas voters, including immigration, the economy and the future of data center development across the state.

Hinojosa discussed the shifting political landscape among Latino voters, including the growing support for Republicans among some Latino voters in the last election. She also addressed how she would balance border security with immigration enforcement and what her approach would look like if elected governor.

Hinojosa also explained her stance on data center development in Texas.

With affordability remaining a major concern for many, Hinojosa outlined what she would do to help El Pasoans manage the cost of living.

The conversation also examined what it would take for Hinojosa to become the first Democrat elected governor of Texas in more than 30 years.
