‘Costumes, not campaigns’: El Paso officials remind voters about attire rules at polls

El Paso County

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Friday marks the last day for early voting in Texas. While some voters may head to the polls in their early Halloween costumes, the El Paso County Elections Department said to be mindful of what you're wearing.

"You can wear a Halloween costume to the polls, but make sure it does not include anything that could be considered electioneering," the elections department said.

According to the elections department, political apparel or accessories related to a candidate, measure or political party aren't allowed at the polls. If an item is considered electioneering, you may be asked to cover or remove it before entering.

Friday, the department said more than 145,500 voters casted their ballots early, marking a 26.92% voting turnout.

There's still time to vote early on Friday. Find your closest polling place using this link. Early voting locations' hours vary.
