EL PASO, Texas (KVIA-TV) -- The Texan Foundation is inviting the Borderland community to lace up their running shoes and take part in the 2nd Annual Heart Sync Run – Stride for Health, a family-friendly event focused on heart disease awareness, prevention, and healthy living.

Founded by Ali Nasur, MD, the nonprofit organization works to educate the community about heart health and encourage healthier lifestyles through outreach and engagement programs. Organizers say this year's event is expected to draw more than 1,000 participants and spectators, making it the foundation's largest gathering yet.

The event will feature three race categories designed to welcome runners of all experience levels. Participants can choose from the Stride for Health 10K, the Challenge Yourself 5K, or the Woman Heart's 3K. Organizers say the races will offer cash prizes while promoting the importance of physical activity and cardiovascular wellness.

In addition to the races, attendees can explore vendor booths, connect with community partners, participate in raffles, and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities. Local gyms, running clubs, businesses, and organizations are partnering with the foundation to help create a community-centered experience focused on wellness and prevention.

Organizers say the event is about more than crossing a finish line. Every step taken supports the foundation's mission of raising awareness about heart disease and encouraging healthier habits throughout the El Paso community.

The 2nd Annual Heart Sync Run – Stride for Health will take place Saturday, Nov. 7. Community members are encouraged to participate, volunteer, or come out to support the cause and learn more about protecting their heart health.
