Man shot near Downtown El Paso Thursday dies; 3 arrested

El Paso Police confirm to ABC-7 that 18-year-old Aaron Ochoa, the person shot Thursday at Rio Grande and Stanton, has died.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting.

They are:

19-year-old Miguel Bygovtia, identified by police as an alleged shooter
17-year-old Gustavo Valencia, identified by police as an alleged shooter
18-year-old Armando Torres, identified by police as the alleged getaway driver

All three have been charged with murder and booked into the El Paso County Jail.

Bonds were set as follows:
Bygovtia: $1,000,000
Valencia: $150,000
Torres: $1,000,000

The shooting occurred at about 5:12 p.m. in a parking lot Thursday with Ochoa being transported to University Medical Center in critical condition.

A witness told ABC-7 he heard nine shots fired and saw the person drive off in a vehicle.

Stanton Street, from Rio Grande to Montana, was blocked off while police investigated the shooting.
