Ysleta Middle school student allegedly threatens to kill principal, others online

ABC-7 is learning of a middle schooler’s plan to shoot his classmates, two principals and a teacher.It happened at Ysleta Middle School on Independence Drive in the the Lower Valley.

“He had a bunch of guns and people were saying he was threatening the school,” a student told ABC-7.

ABC-7 confirmed an Ysleta Middle School student was involved in an incident that forced the district to contact law enforcement. TheYsleta Independent School District won’t say specifically, but with pictures on the web, phone calls into the ABC-7 newsroom, and students testimony, ABC-7 is learning more about what happened.

The names mentioned are the school’s principal, assistant principal and a math teacher. Sources close to the people threatened say this student was upset after getting in trouble.

The district said it takes all reports seriously and diligently follows disciplinary procedures set forth in its Student Code of Conduct,although at this point, the district is not saying how teachers were able to prevent the threat from being realized, how it disciplined the student, or if criminal charges are pending.

YISD said it is continuing to monitor the situation to ensure the safety of all staff and students. Parents are being notified about the incident.
