San Eli wins 4A state soccer championship

trophy the boys soccer team is bringing home! thanks to adrian velez for posting this on our facebook page. the eagles still flying high after winning the texas 4-a boys soccer championship! the school district tweeted these pictures as the team faced liberty hill just outside austin this afternoon. we shared every minute of the excitement with the team on air and on social media. good evening and thank you for joing us on abc- seven at six tonight. i’m estela cas. rick cabrera is off this evening. the borderland is beaming with pride tonight for the san elizario boys soccer team. now state champs! and what a game it was…. just seconds left in the first half and the eagles would take the lead! then just five minutes into the second half, san elizario strikes again! franciso ruiz with another goal. it was all san eli after that. they go on to beat liberty hill with a final score of 4-2. from outside austin to san elizario and all of the borderland… the state of texas bows down to you, boys. congressman beto o’rourke giving his support before the game… tweeting: “Wishing San Elizario the bes of luck today! former congressman pete gallego also tweeted: “So proud o the San Elizario boys soccer team! Playing for the state championship today!” and el paso county commissioner vince perez is excited for the win: he tweeted: “Congrats San Eli!
