Traffic, parking, park+ride plan for 2015 Chihuahuas season
The City of El Paso Department of Transportation (EPDOT), SunMetro and El Paso Chihuahuas have released a traffic plan to minimize delays while safely and efficiently moving traffic around Southwest University Park.
The traffic plan for opening day of the 2015 Chihuahuas baseball season,April 9, 2015, includes Park+Ride services fromSunMetro, special traffic signal timings, and police officers staffing intersections before and after games to help keep pedestrian and vehicular traffic movingsafely.
Traffic inthe area is expected to be mostly congested at the start and end of games as pedestrians, bicyclists, bus riders, and drivers simultaneously make their way around the ballpark area.
The gates at Southwest University Park will open at 6 p.m. with the game starting at 7:05 p.m.
EPDOT is encouraging the public to avoid traffic congestion by going into the ballpark soon after the gates open.
Motorists should also be aware of the following Downtown road closures Kansas between Missouri and Main
Sheldon between Santa Fe and El Paso
Main between El Paso and Oregon
Oregon between Main and Mills
Mills between Oregon and Mesa
Parking and ADA options
Parking is available at several garages, lots and metered spots throughout Downtown.
An ADA drop-off site is available to the public and is located near Southwest University Park at the northwest corner of W. Franklin and Durango.
Southwest University Park has two ADA entrances — one at Santa Fe and Franklin and the other at Durango and W. Franklin.

SunMetro’s Park+Ride
SunMetro’s Park+Ride shuttle services will be available from five locations throughout the city for Opening Day and home games on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Parking is free at the Park+Ride locations and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Departures will start 90 minutes before game time. Some locations only have one departure time.
The round-trip fare is $3. Children 5 and under ride for freeand must be accompanied by an adult.
Passengers are reminded to have exact change for the farebox. The drop-off sites for Park+Ride routes will be located near the Missouri and Oregon intersection, east of the ballpark.
Shuttles will pick up fans at the same drop-off locations. There will be two return trips: the first return trip will depart at the end of the 7th inning; and the final return trip will depart 30 minutes after the game has ended.
