Digital wall Downtown temporarily closed Thursday to repair roof that encloses it
Thursday’s weather even affected the digital wall in Downtown El Paso.
It was closed, just as a precaution, but opened again at 3 p.m.
City officials made the call because the roof of the history museum’s pavilion, which encloses and protects the digital wall (also known as DIGIE), was damaged by this week’s storms and they say it could have damaged the digital wall.
Additional closures might be needed to ensure the safety of patrons during on-going roof repairs.
All repairs are under warranty and will be made at no expense to El Paso taxpayers.
El Pasoans and visitors have access mini-DIGIE at the El Paso Museum of History, too.
DIGIE closes in the event of inclement weather.
As of Monday, the wall has been touched 4.9 million times since opening in mid-February.
