UPDATE: Victims in deadly Northeast El Paso crash identified

Two women died in a crash shortly before 7 p.m Saturdayon the 13900 block of Patriot South at the intersection of Stateline Road in Northeast El Paso.

Police say 57-year old Elva Ramirez and 58-year old Irma Ramirez were killed.

Investigators say Elva Ramirez was driving with five other passengers and heading west on Stateline when she tried to cross Patriot South. Investigators say that’s when she failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of a another vehicle. The driver was unable to stop and crashed into the car driven by Ramirez.

Both women, Elva and Irma Ramirez, died at the scene. Seven other people were injured and several were taken to area hospitals.

Police say alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash. This case is still under investigation.
