Las Cruces school janitor faces child porn charges
A school janitor is behind bars and faces child porn charges.
He awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for later this week.
David Garcia, 31, was arrested on July 2. He was a janitor at Las Cruces Elementary.
His charges include distribution and possession of child pornography.
Documents state an investigation led to Garcia’s arrest at his home.
Federal investigators say his computer’s IP address revealed it was allegedly being used to download images consistent with child pornography.
If convicted, Garcia faces five to 20 years in federal prison.
