An early morning accident shuts down I-10

A motorcyclist lost control of his motorcycle and crashed around 2am this morning on I-10 westbound in front of basset place.

Several drivers stopped to help the motorcyclist who was taken to an area hospital.
The crash closed the freeway in both directions causing a traffic mess as drivers were diverted onto gateway east and west.

The freeway has since been opened. At this time we are waiting for an update on the motorcyclist’s condition.
