5-year-old wins two jiu jitsu gold medals

When you think of fighting as a sport, you think of professional boxers or older adults who can take the beating.

But this isn’t one of those scenarios, in fact it is the complete opposite! Five-year-old Kolby Gonzales is from Las Cruces and is a two-time gold medal champion.

Gonzales is a grey belt and has been training at Gracie Barra for the past nine months.

Gonzales competed in the kids World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships in Ontario, California on July, 25.

There were more than 1,000 competitors in attendance from all over the world, and Gonzales won gold in both the Gi and No Gi competitions.
