two a days … tonight we’ll check out the o?ate knights… for the first time since 2009… onate made the playoffs… and won a game on top of it… but 30 seniors graduated from the team… leaving some to wonder if this year’s edition of the knights will come back down to earth… the players are happy to have the opportunity to prove everyone wrong… duarte: “everyday wake up thinking we’re looked upon as the underdogs in cruces. we’re looking up at everybody. everyone that looks at us and doesn’t think that we’re that good, we’re looking to do something.” stand up: onate may be young, but they’re hungry and athletic. the strength of the team is going to be the defense. with another year under the system and some playmakers all over the lineup… onate feels the defense will help maintain the attitude of the team… it’s called o- b-b… jaquess: they kind of started getting this name the onate bad boys. mckee: “that’s something that built a fire inside of us. we are o-b. we are the bad boys. we’re here and we’re going to prove that to everyone in the state. we’re o-b-b and that’s something that’s inside us and nobody can take it away because that’s us.” onat will be tested right out of the gate … the knights open their season at centennial and host eastlake a week later … they’ll have to grow up in a hurry… but this team is fearless… mckee: i love when people talk smack about our team more than i love people giving me compliments because it just builds a fire inside of me. i’m going to come back. we’re going to come back. my team’s going to come back. we’re going to come back stronger every year. jaquess: we’re going to deserve everything we get if we work hard. if we don’t work hard and we’re not successful, we don’t deserve it. we want to play with that notoriety. notoriety is going to get deserved if we do it one way or the other. if onate’s defense is as good as advertised and the young players get going early… the knights will find themselves back in the state playoffs… and once they’re there… anything can happen… you can find our story on onate and all of our two a days teams on kvia dot com… two a days continues on monday with andress… let’s go to the pga championship… jordan spieth had himself
