Las Cruces post office temporarily closed because of package markings; church explosion investigation continues
The markings on a package at a Las Cruces post office led to the temporary closure of the building.
Steve Marshall, the spokesman for the Albuquerque FBI office, told ABC-7 that the package was checked and cleared and that the markings were taken out of context.
Marshall said the investigation is continuing into the device found at First Presbyterian Church in Las Cruces last week but there was no new information available in that investigation.
He also said there is no physical evidence at this time to link the First Presbyterian Church device and the two explosions that happened at two Las Cruces churches on Aug. 2.
Anyone with information on the explosions at Holy Cross Catholic Church and Calvary Baptist Church is asked to call the FBI FBI tipline at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
