UTEP Football: Kugler Likes the QB Competition

practice this morning since returning from ruidoso … we’re still about 2 and a half weeks away from the start of the season… and the miners are still looking for their starting quarterback … neither garrett simpson nor mack leftwich is making it easy but coach kugler is fine with that… “when guys are put together i competition, if one guy just outright wins it right away it means the other guys isn’t competing. if they’re going down to the wire it means they’re both competing. the more competition we can have on our team, not only at the quarterback position, but at a lot of positions, the better off we’re going to be.” at wide receiver… cole freytag from coronado high school and tyler batson are starting to emerge as the favorites to win the number 2 receiver spot… as for the aggies…
