Man arrested for 3rd DWI allegedly had cocaine, El Paso Police say

El Paso Police have arrested and charged a man with allegedly Driving While Intoxicated for a third time possession of cocaine after an early morning traffic stop on Tuesday.

According to police, Jaime Contreras, of the 9200 block of San Lorenzo, was driving a gray 2006 Chevrolet Equinox south on Cadwallader when he ran the red light at the intersection of Alameda.

Contreras was stopped for the traffic violation and police said they found him to be intoxicated. He was placed under arrest for DWI and allegedly was in possession of .4 grams of cocaine.

Police found out that Contreras had previous DWI convictions in 2001 and 2010.

Contreras also was charged with two outstanding Municipal Court warrants. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $6,805.
