Elite Tactical Challenge supports wounded special forces

across the region came to abc-7 at 5, i’m josie ortegon. teams from across the region came to far east el paso to go head to head in the second elite tactical challenge. abc-7’s andrew j. polk was there, and has the story: nats – gunshots and target pings at the tactical ranch near hueco tanks, dozens of teams from all kinds of backrounds compete on a 3.5 mile long obstacle and shooting course… putting all their tactical skills to the test. it’s the second year that retired green beret and tactical ranch owner tom buchino has held the competion, drawing teams from carlsbad to tucson. “we have teams from military, law enforcement, and veteran teams competing in a run and gun tournament with an unknown task, unknown distance. an extremely versatile array of shoot scenarios, physical endurance tests, and decision-making process events that the teams have to compete.” “the event toda includes a variety of challenges, including shooting out of a helicopter at targets on the ground. and it’s all to benefit special operations families and soldiers.” “we take care o wounded, ill or injured members of the command and their families.” keith david is als a retired green beret, and is the managing director of task force dagger foundation… a non-profit group founded in 2009 to address the needs particular to the special forces community. “we have three core programs – immediate needs, recreational therapy events, and our health initiatives.” and all the proceeds from the competition will be going to task force dagger – an estimated ten thousand dollars. andrew j. polk, abc-7. if you want to know more about task force dagger foundation and how you can help, you can check the link on our website, k-v- i-a dot com.
