Storms Impacting Schools: Las Cruces elementary schools dismiss students late; Clint homecoming parade rescheduled

Las Cruces Public Schools district released the following information regarding the late dismissal of students.

“All elementary schools are dismissing students late due to approaching lightning and thunderstorms. All students will remain indoors until the threat of lightning has passed.

“Students who ride school buses will also be held indoors until they are cleared for dismissal.

“High school bands that were to travel to Deming this evening for an activity may be delayed due to the weather.”

The Clint High School homecoming parade has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Oct. 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. due to anticipated severe weather. A middle school cross country competition set for today was cancelled.
