Hillary Clinton Visits San Antonio

Hillary Clinton is in Texas today. She’s visiting the Lone Star State as part of her nationwide campaign to get the support of Hispanic voters. The Democratic presidential candidate is setting up at a train station in the city’s downtown area with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce head, Javier Palomarez to hold a question-and-answer session. She’s expected to discuss her candidacy and how she will address issues that are important to Hispanic businesses. Afterwards, Clinton will speak at a “Latinos for Hillary” grassroots organization meeting.

Clinton’s “Latinos for Hillary” effort has already taken her to South Florida where she arranged watch parties to try to gain Hispanic support during Tuesday’s debate in Las Vegas. Now she plans on doing similar work in Texas. Texas is the largest of more than a dozen states set to hold “Super Tuesday” presidential primaries on March 1. That’s when a lot of states hold their primary elections and each party’s presidential candidates are officially nominated. It’s considered the first test of national electability and Clinton is a favorite among Texas Democrats. Back in 2008, Texans supported her over Barack Obama in the state’s Democratic primary. She and her husband Bill also have history with San Antonio inparticular. Both Clintons lived in San Antonio in the 1970s, while working for George McGovern’s presidential campaign.
