Fire department says suspicious substance is talcum powder

Fire department officials tweeted that a gray substance was found in an envelope in the 3600 block of North Copia.

Nearby Rusk Elementary, which was scheduled for a noon release today, is proceeding with the early release, according to an El Paso Independent School. District spokesman.

“We are taking precautions and working with law enforcement officials,” EPISD spokesman Gustavo Reveles said.
