UPDATE: No foul play in fire that killed man in Central El Paso
Police do not suspect foul play in a fire that killed a man Saturday evening.
The El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit responded to the scene of a “minor fire” after crews discovered 50-year-old Ruben Ramirez in the apartment. He was taken to Sierra Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said they had gotten reports that Ramirez was acting irrationally prior to the fire. Fire crews were dispatched to an apartment building at about 5 p.m. on the 1800 block of Kentucky Street.
