U.S Marshals seize $50,000 after till tap raid

The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the El Paso Police Department’s Gang Unit conducted a till tap at eight local bars and restaurants on Friday and Saturday evening and discovered each was found to be playing Pay-per-view broadcasts without paying the proper licensing fee.

Officials say some of the establishments were temporarily closed, but authorities entered the establishments and seized money from the cash registers.

Each was found to be displaying a Pay-per-view broadcast without authorization and without paying the proper licensing fee. In each case, the court concluded the broadcast licensee was entitled to default judgment, and therefore, the court rendered a monetary fine against the establishments.

In total, $50,000 was seized during the operation. Two of the businesses successfully payed the amount while six others still have remaining balances.

This is a list of the locations affected by the till tap:
Chicago’s Street Food
El Bandolero Discotheque
Joseph’s Lounge
Player’s Billiard Parlor
Horizon Nite Club
Tequila Frogs Sports Bar (El Patron Sports Bar)
TKO’s Bar (Papillon Bar & Grill)
El Texano
