1966 Texas Western champs honored at scene of title

The Texas Western NCAA championship basketball team was honored over the weekend in College Park Maryland, where the Miners defeated the University of Kentucky in 1966.

A large group of University of Maryland fans marked the occasion and honored five members of the team who came to the ceremony.

Nevil Shed, Willie Cager, Willie Worsley, Louis Beaudoin and “Big Daddy” David Lattin told stories about the game and coach Don Haskins.
