Anthony, NM is preparing for one of its biggest elections yet

The city of Anthony is preparing for one of its biggest elections yet.

Five mayoral candidates are on the ballot for Tuesday.

Candidates include current mayor Arnulfo Castaneda, Juan Acevedo, Raymundo Aguirre, Diana Trujillo and Peggy Scott.

Residents can cast their vote Tuesday at the Anthony City Chambers.

According to the city clerk, Anthony has 10,000 residents and 2,900 are registered to vote. The city had a 10-15% turnout in the last mayoral election.

Sunland Park, Hatch and Mesilla will hold their municipal elections Tuesday as well.
