New Mexico Gov. Martinez to endorse Marco Rubio

The campaign for Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio says New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez is set to endorse the Florida senator.

The announcement is set to be made on Thursday.

Rubio’s campaign also said Martinez will hit the campaign trail with Rubio in Kansas on Friday.

The endorsement comes days after the country’s only Latina governor refused to say whether she was supporting GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump if he became the Republican nominee.

Martinez was quoted as saying “Rubio is a compelling leader who can unite the country.”

Rubio had previously said Martinez would make a good vice presidential candidate.
