I-10 to be closed this weekend

El Paso Electric (EPE) will require an eastbound and westbound closure on I-10 from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2016, between Sunland Park Drive and Executive Center Blvd. in west El Paso.

This is to allow EPE crews to safely work on structures related to the TxDOT I-10 Collector Project.

Crews will remove two transmission structures between Sunland Park Drive and Paisano Drive and install new structures on both sides of I-10 and replace existing wire.

Additional closures include:

Paisano Drive at Executive Blvd. and Sunland Park Drive and Paisano Drive

Crockett Street between Sunland Park Drive and Paisano Drive

Detour Information:

Eastbound: All traffic must exit Sunland Park Drive then turn left onto Sunland Park and turn right onto Mesa. Commuters can take Mesa to Downtown or turn right on Executive to I-10 eastbound ramp

Westbound: All traffic must exit Executive Center and make a right at Executive Center. Commuters can take Mesa to I-10 or turn left on Sunland Park to I-10 westbound ramp

Commuters are asked to safely follow all detour signs and plan accordingly.

Phase II of this project will require an additional I-10 closure in this area in the upcoming weeks. The date and details of this closure will be provided at a later time.
