Estela’s Escuelas: Kids make quilts for young patients

Patient’s at Providence’s Children’s hospital will be getting a special delivery.

Students from Gadsden Elementary made quilts for the young cancer patients called “quillows”- quilts that fold into pillows. They made them as part of Operation Allan.

Allan was a former Gadsden student who lost a 15-month battle to brain cancer.

Students in 4th through 6th grades helped make the “quillows.”

The young students even gave the children at the hospital summarized books to read. The sick children sometimes cannot make it through the entire book, so they now have a shorter version they can read.
