UTEP vs. TCU in NIT at Don Haskins

highly-anticipated basketball games of the season is less than three hours away … utep will host t-c-u tonight at 7 at the don in the w-n-i-t sweet 16. sports director trevor thompson joins us live in the newsroom for his take on the game. trevor? it’s going to be a great atmosphere no doubt. utep doesn’t release information on tickets sold before games….but one source told me that tonight’s crowd will almost certainly be the biggest yet in utep’s w-n-i-t run. now utep actually had the highest attendance of any school in the last round of the wnit at just over 5,000 fans. hopefully we can re-capture some of the magic from two years ago…when utep advanced all the way to the championship game against rutgers. each home game was loud and intense. coach adams wants to re-create that home court advantage. “well, you know, our fans get really behind us. we’ve got great spirit in this building and great energy. i think our kids feed off them. and then the crowd feeds off our kids. so it’s kind of fun watching that.” and if you need more incentive to pack the don, consider this. t-c-u is only 4 and 8 on the road. they’re only 1 and 2 in road games when there were at least 7,000 fans in attendance. so, let’s try to get to at least 7,000. back to you.
