H.S. Soccer Regional Semifinals

we are in the sweet 16 of high school state soccer playoffs. and entering the day we had six teams from el paso still alive. let’s begin with the bel air boys taking on wichita falls rider in wichita falls. rider on the attack all day.. josh peloquin dribbling like iniesta, finishing like messi. the raiders too much for bel air… 3-nil the final. el paso girls also playing wichita falls rider in wichita falls. tigers take the lead in the first half …it’s isabella benevides with the left foot across goal and into the back of the net. 1-0 el paso on top. but rider would respond. they score the final two goals of the game including one in overtime. and rider beats el paso..2-1 the final. how about jefferson? playing its sweet 16 game against grapevine. here’s a sweet play by jordan slim of grapevine…weaving in and out and tucking that ball away… grapevine a very strong team. they beat jefferson 3-nil. in 6a boys… socorro’s season has come to an end. they fall 3-nil in their regional semifinal game. sticking in 6a ….el dorado boys had a 3-1 lead late in regulation. they ended up going to penalty kicks in this one. and they lose a heartbreaker to plano east. 5a boys…we finally have a winner! the eastlake boys beat grapevine 4-1 to advance to the elite 8! eastlake the last local team standing.
