Local Snapchat video has many El Pasoans disappointed

has gotten a lot of el pasoans upset . the video shows two individuals vandalizing the star on the mountain–appearing to show the two taking lightbulbs off. now the greater chamber of commerce has some harsh words fot those people. evan, josie. several viewers have sent this video to our newsroom and we’re getting a lot of reaction. evan, josie. several viewers have sent this video to our newsroom. this video was recorded off of snapchat by an abc-7 viewer. we’re going to leave it on loop so you can get a better look. it shows two people filming themselves stealing a few light bulbs from the star on the mountain. the name of the user appears to be covered and we’re not sure when the video was taken. but you can clearly see two individuals a man and a woman removing the lightbulbs from the star. in the video you can also see they wore special gloves to handle what could be the heat from the lightbulbs. and possibly adding insult to injury the individual also posted a picture showing that they put those lightbulbs in their own house with a el paso style logo –showing the star on the mountain. “i just think it’s disrespectfu because this is pretty much one of the well know parts here in el paso honestly i just think it’s a bad idea” i also spoke with richard dayoub the president of the el paso greater chamber of commerce they are the orginaztion that maintains the star he said “this is arrogance and stupidity..the star is an icon for the community this is a theft and trespassing that affects tax payers and we will prosecute to the full extent of the law.” dayoub also tells me they do have cameras in the area and they will be looking at that video. evan josie. the islamic
