Petition surfaces against “fish shot” at East-Central EP bar

As we’ve reported, there is a bar in El Paso that is serving live Minnows with drinks for patrons to drink, if they choose to do so.

Now, there is a petition online to stop it.

Care2 Petition is demanding the El Paso bar, Zocalo Cantina, stop selling live fish with shots.

The bar gives patrons a live minnow fish in a side cup so drinkers can pour the fish in their booze and swallow it.

The petition calls on the bar owner, Mayor Oscar Lesse and City Representative Lily Limon

The petition had over 5,000 signatures on Friday.

Those against the “fish shot” say it’s disgusting and cruel.

The fish is legal per Health Department requirements because the fish is not actually served in the shot, and patrons have to add the fish to the drink themselves.
