Las Cruces Bulldawgs headed to state; Community Champions

After a dominant semi-final win against Cleveland 45-7, the Las Cruces Bulldawgs are headed to the state title game. And for that, they are this week’s Community Champion sponsored by Southwest University.

The Bulldawgs will face off against #1 Rio Rancho who has outscored their opponents in the playoffs 83-7. But the Las Cruces players are just focused on the task at hand.

“It’s a big deal, during the off season we wanted a district championship and we did that,” wideout Brandon Baeza said. “our last goal was to win a state title and we are right there so now we have to go ahead and win it.”

The game is slated for a 1 p.m. kickoff in Rio Rancho, near Albuquerque, on Saturday Dec. 3.
